Some multiple victim public shootings around the world

This is list not complete. It misses out on the attacks in France as well a s Switzerland. For example, September 27, 2001 — a lone gunman shot and killed 14 people in the Swiss cantonal parliament in Zug, near Zurich. Note that all of these are in gun free zones. I also wish that the listing had made it clear that the Tasmania attack had 35 deaths. The 20 deaths and then reference to 15 might be missed by casual readers as having a greater total.

Hi John,

I'm sure that you are well aware of these , but for the info of your visitors;

Michael Ryan (1987) had previously threatened to shoot at least one person and also had illegally held guns, so there were clear grounds to revoke his firearms certificates, but the presence of illegally held guns (I think one was an M1 carbime) would still have left him capable of the shooting.

It took (if my memory is right) over 4 hours for the armed police to get to the town, by which time Ryan had already holed up, of his own accord, in the school. so the possession of semi auto rifles was not essential for his piece of evil. with the time he had available an improvised muzzle loader loaded with match heads would have sufficed.

For Thomas Hamilton, it appears that the cops dealing with his certificate were unhappy with him, but were too afraid of the potential effects of a complaint against them on their promotion prospects.

The files from the procurator fiscal (Scottish State prosecutor) relating to Hamilton are under 100 year closure orders (that's tighter than for war cabinet minutes!)which suggests something juicy in there, but we'll not see it in our life times.

After the killings word came out that hamilton had previously issued death threats to people.

forgetting the guns. seperate mass public killings not involving guns, included Horrit Campbell's 1997 machete attack on a nursery school in london. campbell was a schizophrenic.

I forget the exact year and name of the attacker: Teeside, north eastern England. A young male entered a school classroom, lined up the kids and made them watch while he killed their class mates with a knife. His reason: his life was not a "success" and he wanted revenge on those who could still be successful.

Marc Lepine was born Gamil Gharbi, the son of a Algerian muslim wife beater, who also abused his son.

None of the mainstream media have acknowledged this information since the first day of reporting on this incident.

Forgot to say, about september time last year a cop went postal in south Africa with his issue pistol, killing his Girlfriend, baby and some colleagues to boot.

aparently its quite common in the SAPS...

in february a buck fevered kenyan game warden lost it trying to shoot a lion and accidentally got a couple of colleagues and local villagers.
