Obvious question that remains is...what about handgun registry?

Well, the Liberal government admitted that hadn't solved any crimes either, but you take what you can get. Get rid of the long gun registry, show them that crime won't rise, then start educating people about the implications for handgun registration.

I've read somewhere that there are renewal deadlines approaching for citizens who initially registered some years ago, and if the law isn't repealed or replaced by their deadlines they will have to go through the effort (and fees$) of renewing, even though the government has announced that they are scrapping the registry. Any word on a government announcement of how they are going to handle this issue?
