About Me
Amazed how lucky I am that I have had jobs where I could just think about whatever I wanted to think about. This summer I will be moving to the University of Maryland. Previously I held positions at the University of Chicago, Yale University, Stanford, UCLA, Wharton, and Rice and was the chief economist at the United States Sentencing Commission during 1988 and 1989. I have published over 90 articles in academic journals. I received my Ph.D. in economics from UCLA in 1984.

I'll be looking to buy it and critique it: these are not favorable times for Illinoisans.
Does it include a mention of the GFSSZ Act (CFR Title 18) Gun Free Safe School Zone Act ?
This law makes teenagers the most vulnerable citizens to attack from maniacs. It also leaves teachers and other adults vulnerable to harm. The effect of the passage of this law dispels all the harm the gun ban movement has done to us.
This law convinces school officials that guns are bad, and empowers school principals beyond ever imagined; it further reinforces in them our children (my son) belongs to the government. The Gun Free Safe School Zone Act is the most devastating law ever against the safety of school age children.
This law makes more felons out of law-abiding parents than any other gun law. All out-of-state citizens must keep their guns in a locked container when driving past a school - ANY SCHOOL, INCLUDING PRE-SCHOOL, DAY CARE CENTER OR UNIVERSITY !!
TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 44 > § 922(q)
Gun Free Safe School Zone Act (from IllinoisCarry.com)
I was never able to find this law myself, but thanks to a member at Illinoiscarry.com was able to read it.
Dr. Lott, can you describe your new book for us? There isn't much info on the Amazon page. Does it build on your other books, The Bias Against Guns and More Guns, Less Crime? Or is it something different?
Do you talk about the NAS study in the book?
