About Me
Amazed how lucky I am that I have had jobs where I could just think about whatever I wanted to think about. This summer I will be moving to the University of Maryland. Previously I held positions at the University of Chicago, Yale University, Stanford, UCLA, Wharton, and Rice and was the chief economist at the United States Sentencing Commission during 1988 and 1989. I have published over 90 articles in academic journals. I received my Ph.D. in economics from UCLA in 1984.

3 Comments:
Those that can, Do:Those that can't, Teach.
In this case that old homily applies to the verb 'THINK'.
Keeping and bearing arms used to be a right, then it became a crime, and now it's something much worse.
Mere suspicion that a private citizen is armed justifies opening fire in the minds of seasoned police officers.
Mere possession of a toy gun, even though it was only found and turned in, justifies severe punishment for the finder.
When will we start burning former gun owners at the stake? Or would that be too obvious?
Gun control has become religion for leftist zealots, and gun owners are predictably being abused as heretics. That is not acceptable.
School employees are to blame for some of the violence. This is a case of punishing a student for informing a principal. The student should have left the gun in place and informed a teacher. Young people don't always make good decisions (and some adults never do.)
Any parent of a student removed from school qualifies to have their property taxes returned if the student has to pay tuition elswwhere.
Contempt for the 2nd amendment causes gun violence in schools. And then children are punished (and terrorized by government.)
