42 percent think Bush lower gas prices for election
Almost two-thirds of those who suspect President Bush intervened to bring down energy prices before Election Day are registered Democrats, according to Gallup.
White House spokesman Tony Snow addressed the issue Monday, telling reporters that "the one thing I have been amused by is the attempt by some people to say that the president has been rigging gas prices, which would give him the kind of magisterial clout unknown to any other human being." . . .

Thats funny as heck! How do they find so many folks who don't understand the basic law of supply and demand?
Dear notr:
I think that the key here is that "almost two-thirds of those who suspect President Bush intervened" were Democrats. I tell myself that these guys don't really believe the answer that they gave, but they hate Bush so why not say something that they think will make him look bad. Anyway, I think that I hope that is the explanation, though I am conflicted on whether society is worse off assuming that they are really that clueless or whether they hate the president that much. Neither is a very good option.
I read elswhere that prices dropped in other parts of the world too. Can the US govenment sell and not sell oil from the government's own supply of oil ?
Responsible Americans spy on their government and question everything it does. I learned that from Thomas Jefferson.
Dear SNS:
This link will provide you with a useful graph to see how gas prices in the US and Canada go up and down together. The only difference between the two prices are taxes and government regulations.
