For a long time, and up until Florida passed Castle and 'stand your ground' law, those who always knew stood alone and fought for gun rights (while many of us stood on the sidelines.) I think they had this realistic vision that when the whole country has people packing heat then things cool down - and we know they are and were right. When every state has RTC then bank robberies and robberies and especially assaults will all go down, even attacks against police. There will always be everywhere people coming and going (Johnny on the spot) armed and able to help anyone (police too). "An armed society is a polite society"
